The Foster Care Council is an independent regulatory body for people who “foster” the care of children. The FCC will keep a register of, provide information, support and education for all registered members. To “foster” means with parental care, and agreed temporary responsibility you will encourage the development of a child within your care. The people would be regulated and registered under this body will include, foster carers, support foster carers, back-up carers, nursery nurses, playgroup workers, nursery staff, youth workers, youth staff and children mentors.
